Anastasiya Loginova: Stefan, Miguel, thank you for finding time for this interview and the upcoming show in Moscow.
Do you have any expectations from this upcoming concert?
Digital 21 + Stefan Olsdal: The Highest! Always the highest. Music makes us all fly, doesn't it?
Anastasiya Loginova: What do you associate with Moscow?
Digital 21 + Stefan Olsdal: We don't believe in cliches. Beautiful city for sure. And amazing public. We can feel it through our social media. We can't wait to play for them.
Anastasiya Loginova: I've read in one interview that one of the most difficult tasks for you is choosing songs for an album. Do you have some 'rules' which are useful for choosing songs?
Digital 21 + Stefan Olsdal: No rules at all. Rules in music are like rules for poems. No rules at all for us.
Anastasiya Loginova: Does the atmosphere at your shows feel different in various countries and cities?
Digital 21 + Stefan Olsdal: Sure... London, Berlin, Madrid or Lisbon. All of them are amazing but the atmosphere is completely different. And we loved and enjoyed each one.
Anastasiya Loginova: Does in matter for you as musicians what venue you are preforming at?
Digital 21 + Stefan Olsdal: Sure. To play in a theatre or a museum is completely different to playing at a big festival. We can't wait for the show in Moscow, we're gonna play some brand new stuff there.
Anastasiya Loginova: Stefan, in June I was
at the event with you that was dedicated to mental health issues in the music industry. How do you think a manager can support a musician (or a band) and help in a difficult period of life?
Stefan Olsdal: Keep the communication open and try to be empathetic. Patience is a must, and sometimes the best decision might not be the one that pleases all!
